Briefing

Fight for Cordelia Map
An elite Imperial squad has launched a surprise attack on Randgriz.

Their target is likely Princess Cordelia, who resides in the heart of the city.

We can't let the Imperials succeed. Defend the line in area 4 for 5 turns.

For an S-rank, this mission requires you kill every single target in four turns. This requires abusing interception fire as much as you can while capturing as many enemy bases as possible, preventing them from spawning more units for you to kill.

Area 3 is somewhat of a nightmare, as every turn, a total of four Gatling Soldiers will spawn every turn, which will become rather overwhelming. Although you could abuse auto-sniper fire to cull their numbers every turn, an S-rank requires that you kill all enemy units in all areas under 4 turns, so in order to protect the Area 3 gate while still obtaining S-Rank, you'll have to maximize the turns you have to conquer other areas, while capturing as many bases as possible to prevent even more enemy troops being deployed. That means using interception fire to kill the spawning gatling soldiers. Thankfully, this is made somewhat easier by the fact that for some reason, the Gatling Soldiers prefer to simply charge toward the gates instead attacking, making keeping them in check via interception easier.

Nevertheless, you need to arm your Area 3 defenses quite carefully in order to take advantage of the Gatling Soldiers' movement. At the minimum, we recommend 4 units in Area 3: a shocktrooper/gunner with the Hurricane Mk2-8 or Ruhm paired with the Advanced Scope Accessory, the Nameless Tank armed with the Looted Flame-MG Turret F3 and Gatling-MG Ammo, a sniper armed with an Auto-Sniper Rifle and a scout.

Only high-power, long-range anti-armor machine guns, like the Hurricane Mk2-8 paired with the Advanced Scope Accessory or the Ruhm , can chew through the Gatling Soldiers' armor fast enough to kill them with interception fire alone and protect the gate in Area 3. For the Nameless Tank we recommend that you give it a Looted Flame-MG Turret F3 buffed with the Gatling-MG Ammo, since the machine gun has high enough anti-armor/personnel power and range to easily kill Gatling Soldiers in a single volley. On top of that, the flamethrower can easily OHKO the Cannon Tower guarding the base linking to Area 1 in while heavily damaging the lancer in that same base.

This makes it much easier for your Area 3 scout to take the enemy base and thus prevent the imperials from spawning more troops that you have to kill. Also, taking that same base will put you in a position to clear enemy troops in area 1 and also destroy the cannon tower threatening your main base, thus giving you an opening to take over Area 2 or 3 from Area 1.
