Briefing

Fight for Cordelia Map
An elite Imperial squad has launched a surprise attack on Randgriz.

Their target is likely Princess Cordelia, who resides in the heart of the city.

We can't let the Imperials succeed. Defend the line in area 4 for 5 turns.

For an S-rank, this mission requires you kill every single target in four turns while preventing enemy units from reaching the gate in Area 3. This requires abusing interception fire as much as you can while capturing as many enemy bases as possible, preventing the Imperials from spawning more units for you to kill.

The centerpiece of the action is Area 3, where four Gatling Soldiers will spawn every turn, all charging toward the main gate. Although you could abuse auto-sniper fire to cull their numbers every turn, it consumes precious CP that could otherwise be used to kill enemies in other areas. That means using interception fire to kill the Gatling Soldiers, which is made easier by the fact that for some reason, the Gatling Soldiers prefer to simply charge toward the Area 3 gates instead of attacking from afar, making keeping them in check via interception easier. At the same time though, if one wants to take the S-Rank, it is crucial to capture as many enemy bases as possible to prevent the imperials from spawning even more units for you to waste CP on.

Thus, it would be efficient to charge Area 3's camp as quickly as possible. Area 3 preparations are as follows:

  1. At least 2 gunners or shocktroopers in Area 3's frontlines, both armed with long-range, anti-armor machine guns. This includes weapons like the Hurricane Mk2-8 or Ruhm paired with the Advanced Scope Accessory. These are capable of chewing through Gatling Soldier shields quickly enough to kill them with interception alone.
  2. The Nameless Tank, armed with the Looted Flame-MG Turret F3. Set as the leader; make sure it has high-enough rear defense to prevent it from dying to Gatling Interception.
  3. A sniper armed with an Auto-Sniper Rifle
  4. A scout, preferably elite-leveled, for maximum mobility. Try and arm it with the Tank Vest and the strongest rifle you have available.

The Nameless Tank is the spear of the attack, for it's responsible for charging and killing at least one Gatling Soldier with its machine gun while also OHKO-ing the Cannon Tower guarding the Area 3 base. With support from the Sniper killing off any surviving Gatling Soldiers, the way is clear for the Elite Scout to take the Area 3 base and thus prevent the imperials from spawning more troops that you have to kill. Also, taking that same base will put you in a position to clear enemy troops in area 1 and also destroy the cannon tower threatening your main base, thus giving you an opening to take over Area 2 or 3 from Area 1.
