Briefing[]
An elite Imperial squad has launched a surprise attack on Randgriz.
Their target is likely Princess Cordelia, who resides in the heart of the city. We can't let the Imperials succeed. Defend the line in area 4 for 5 turns. |
Strategy[]
For an S-rank, this mission requires you kill every single target in four turns while preventing enemy units from reaching the gate in Area 3. This requires abusing interception fire as much as you can while capturing as many enemy bases as possible, preventing the Imperials from spawning more units for you to kill.
The centerpiece of the action is Area 3, where Gatling Soldiers will spawn every turn, all charging toward the main gate. One could abuse auto-sniper fire to cull their numbers every turn, but often, the Gatling Soldiers prefer to simply charge toward the Area 3 Gates instead of attacking from afar. This makes interception fire much more CP-efficient at defending the Area 3 gates; only guns with 100+ anti-armor and long range (180+) are capable of chewing through Gatling Soldier shields quickly enough to kill them with interception alone.
At the same time though, if one wants to take the S-Rank, it is crucial to capture as many enemy bases in as few CP as few possible to prevent the imperials from spawning even more units for you to waste CP on. Thus, it would be efficient to charge Area 3's camp as quickly as possible, while keeping many Scout Elites (with Double Movement or Second Wind) in reserve for their high mobility.
A possibility for capturing Area 3's base is to class Imca as a fencer with a strong Maul, use her Weapons Unleashed Special Power to clear out Area 3's Gatling Soldiers and Cannon Towers, and then use a scout elite to capture the enemy base and take out any survivors.
