Hi guys,
This is something that I have wanted to do for a while, that is a Ranks and a Awards system for our wiki. I'll explain below and please let me know what you think.
Ranks[]
Since we have the ranks insignia in this article, I suggest we create a system where users gain ranks as they edit to encourage contributors. The rank of each user will be display in his/her profile page in form of a Infobox and maybe in the signature as well.
Ranks can be promoted by admins or by users upon reaching the requirements. However, users who violated the criteria will be given a warning. The second time will be a 3-day ban and the third time will be a permanent ban.
The requirements for promotion to next rank are as follow (this is just my suggestion, I need your input here):
- Private - Registered Users.
- Private First Class - 5 edits.
- Corporal - 10 edits.
- Sergeant - 20 edits.
- Master Sergeant - 40 edits.
- Sergeant Major - 80 edits.
- 2nd Lieutenant - 120 edits.
- 1st Lieutenant - 170 edits.
- Captain - 220 edits.
- Major - 280 edits.
- Lieutenant Colonel - 350 edits.
- Colonel - 500 edits.
- Major General - 800 edits.
- Lieutenant General - 1500 edits.
- General - 3000 edits.
- Marshal - 5000 edits.
EDIT1: The rank system is now live. You can now start adding rank infobox to your profile page. For the detailed instructions and guidelines, see Encyclopedia Europa:User Ranks.
EDIT2: You can now add insignia to your signature. Also see Encyclopedia Europa:User Ranks for instruction.
Awards[]
Awards will take the form of Medals (http://valkyria.wikia.com/wiki/File:Medals.png) and can be given to users for performing certain tasks. These are also displayed in user profile pages and only admins/bureaucrats can give awards.
EDIT3: Award system is now active, see Encyclopedia Europa:Awards. For any question/suggestion, please right on the talk page of Encyclopedia Europa:Awards.
