Treading New Ground is the squad story focused on Miles, Aulard, and Dan. Tank Boys is the combat mission for this squad story.

Topography

This map is the same as the one in Chapter 2: The Liberation of Reine. Some differences include the signal towers being removed, the SE corner of the map being inaccessible, and multiple barricades, both destructible and indestructible scattered throughout the city streets. There are also multiple wrecks of Federate Tanks throughout the city.

Claude will start on the road to the SE, while Dan, Aulard, and a Federate Tank will start on the NE road beside the Federation base camp. The Imperial base camp is in the center of Main Street, surrounded by barricades and multiple tanks and infantry units.

Let's begin the mission briefing

"Our target is the enemy tank platoon. Squad E will take the vanguard. We'll send you some tank reinforcements soon enough. Still, we're outnumbered. It goes without saying that our tanks will take a beating. Command your Engineers wisely, and remember to repair your tanks when they need it.

Location: War-Torn City

Description: Defeat the advancing Imperial tanks by capturing the enemy base camp. The operation will end in failure if Aulard or the Hafen get wrecked.
