Status Ailments are debuffs caused by certain weapons to both enemy and ally units. These effects are temporary and only last for a single turn of gameplay (from the viewpoint of the inflictor). Armored units are immune to such effects unless stated otherwise below.
Valkyria Chronicles[]
HP Down[]
- Effect: Decreases HP by 3% of max HP every 3 seconds a unit is controlled.
- Weapons that cause the effect: FoG Flamethrowers, VB FW 1B and 9X flamethrowers
Attack Down[]
- Effect: Reduces attack power by 50%.
- Weapons that cause the effect: MAJ-X series, ZM MP B variants and 9X series (not including ZM MP 96)
Defense Down[]
- Effect: Reduces defense by 50%.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Gallian-X series, ZM Kar B variants and ZM Kar 9X series (not including ZM Kar 96)
Aim Down[]
- Effect: Reduces aim/accuracy by 50%.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Brondel X series, ZM SG B variants and ZM SG 9X series (not including ZM SG 96)
Valkyria Chronicles 2[]

- Effect: Gradually decrease HP.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Warpick-X series, Cival-X series
-Attack[]
- Effect: Reduces attack power.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Mags-X series, Hildr g21
-Defense[]
- Effect: Reduces defense.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Gallian-X series, Hervor g21
-Evasion[]
- Effect: Reduces evasive skills.
- Weapons that cause the effect: GSR-X series
AP Use Up[]
- Effect: AP depletes much quicker when moving.
- Weapons that cause the effect: most weapons have a small chance of inflicting this effect. The chance is displayed as "Suppress" in the menu with "A" being the highest and "D" being the lowest.
AP Waste[]
- Effect: Reduces max AP.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Lancaar-SH-X series.
-Ammo[]
- Effect: Reduces the number of shots a unit can fire by 50%, rounds up if number isn't an integer.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Squall-X series, Goll g22
Drop[]
- Effect: Completely empties a unit's ammunition, including grenades. Weapons with infinite ammo are not affected.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Viper-X series
No Counter[]
- Effect: Prevents a unit from intercepting or counter attacking. Powered V2s are not affected.
- Weapons that cause the effect: X-type Grenade

- Effect: Reduces defense.
- Weapons that cause the effect: ZMXKar
-Ammo[]
- Effect: Reduces the number of shots a unit can fire by 50%, rounds up if number isn't an integer.
- Weapons that cause the effect: ZM-MPX, ZM-MGX

AP Use Up[]
- Effect: AP depletes much quicker when moving.
- Weapons that cause the effect: most weapons have a small chance of inflicting this effect. The chance is displayed as "Suppress" in the menu with "S" being the highest and "D" being the lowest. Pistols tend to have the highest Suppress ratings and thus the best chance of inflicting the status condition.
Valkyria Chronicles 4[]
Ammo Down[]
- Effect: Target loses all ammo for weapons with limited ammunition, including grenades. AI-controlled Grenadiers and Elite Snipers will continue to fire, but have to use the stats of their Interception fire ammunition.
- Weapons that cause the effect: MAJ-X M1R, MAJ-X M30R, ZM MP XD(e), ZM MP B variants
AP Down[]
- Effect: Vehicles lose all remaining AP. Not persistent: only affects AP for the current Command Point. No effect on infantry.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Elias mortar interception, VB GW B mortar interception
AP Use Up[]
- Effect: AP depletes more quickly when moving.
- Weapons that cause the effect: VB PL B(e) series, VB MT B series
Attack Down[]
- Effect: Reduces attack power by 50%.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Vulcan's Gatling Turret (only affects armored units), Dunkel (playable version)
Defense Down[]
- Effect: Reduces defense by 50%
- Weapons that cause the effect: Gallian X1R, Gallian X20R, Gallian X5D, ZM Kar B variants
Evade Down[]
- Effect: Reduces evasion by 50%
- Weapons that cause the effect: Brondel M101XR, Brondel M105XD, ZM SG B variants
Speed Down[]
- Effect: Slows infantry movement speed for several seconds.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Sanders mortar interception, Hartmann mortar interception, VB GW mortar interception
Stun[]
- Effect: Prevents infantry from taking any action.
- Weapons that cause the effect: Schatten
Valkyria Revolution[]
Burning[]
- Effect: Damage over time
- Can be caused by fire-based attacks.
Confusion[]
- Effect: Stronger version of Surprise and can cause a target to be unable to act.
- Can be caused when a target is continuously surprised.
Fear[]
- Effect: Stronger version of Panic and can cause a target to be unable to act.
- Can be caused when a target is continuously panicked.
Frozen[]
- Effect: Target is frozen and cannot move or take action.
- Can be caused by Water-based attacks.
Panic[]
- Effect: Weakens abilities. Cancels out Rage/Resolve.
Rage[]
- Effect: Attack power increases and action gauge speeds up but lowers defense.
- Can be triggered when an ally is incapacitated or attacked continuously.
Resolve[]
- Effect: Increases defenses and guard abilities and draws enemy attention.
- Can be triggered when an ally is incapacitated or attacked continuously.
Shocked[]
- Effect: Stunned and cannot take action.
- Can be caused by lightning-based attacks.
Surprise[]
- Effect: Immobilizes target and lowers defenses. Cancels out Rage/Resolve.
