Salix is the fifth son of Martha Lipponen.
Salix was known to be born inside the Edelweiss on the day Bruhl fell to the Empire. When asked to be the child's godfather, Welkin offered wishes that he grew as tall and strong as a Gallian willow, naming the child after the genus Salix. Martha's husband, a landscaper, planted a Gallian willow in Bruhl to commemorate their son's birth. Both tree and child are now growing by leaps and bounds.
