The Ruzi Empire is one of the five superpowers of Europa and the main enemy of Jutland in Valkyria Revolution.

Overview[]

Once a small, undeveloped kingdom with scarce resources. Klaudiusz usurped the throne and declared himself its Emperor. He then used the Valkyria to annex and colonize surrounding countries, raising Ruz into an international superpower. It is one of the largest nations on the continent (approx. 22,800,000 kmĀ²) with a population of around 69,000,000 people.

As an empire with hegemonic tendencies, the rest of Europa both condemns and fears its ruler's iron-willed ambition.

The Empire stretches from the southeast of the continent of Europa to the frozen north, but also far to the east as its western borders touch the empires of Habstria and Preutzen. It also borders the countries of Sylvania and Valdaria to the south, and the Kingdom of Jutland and the Persha-Zakhs Imperial Alliance to its southeast.

The capital of the Empire is Zandberg, a modern city located far from the borders of the Empire and whose location was chosen to replace the city of Mugan Ruz, which was too close to the new borders for the taste of Emperor Klaudiusz.

As the capital, the city also hosts an officers' club where high ranking officers can meet and relax while in Zandberg.

The official currency is the Hryvnia.

History[]

Originally a kingdom, the Ruzi Empire had become, in about ten years, one of the largest and most powerful states on the continent of Europa by 1853 EC. From a small and weak kingdom with few resources, the acquisition of a Valkyria has allowed it to subjugate several neighboring states, turning them into provinces and colonies. These acquisitions also allowed for a rapid development of the Empire's technology and military arsenal, giving it a leading position in the development of alchemical armaments.

Because of these advances, the capital was moved from Mugan Ruz to Zandberg.

Military[]

Ruzi soldiers and tanks

The Imperial Army, vast and well equipped, has two components: its infantry, numerous and heavily protected, and its tanks with animal forms.

Infantry[]

The infantry has four types of units:

  • Scouts: equipped with either a rifle or a sword, they form the bulk of the imperial infantry. The pilots of the bipedal tanks wear the same uniform as the infantry scouts.
  • Shocktroopers: more heavily protected than scouts, Shocktroopers are mainly used for direct assault, they are equipped with a machine gun or a large axe.
  • Shields: Shields are very heavily protected, with a shield and black armor. They are only equipped with a long sword as a weapon.
  • Sappers: Unlike their Jutish counterparts, Sappers are equipped only with sniper rifles, though they can channel mana to use elemental bullets.

With the exception of sappers, Advanced and Elite infantry can be identified by their maroon and black armor, respectively.

Tanks[]

Tanks have three categories:

  • Light tanks: bipedal shape, vaguely reminiscent of a Lindwyrm. They have two machine guns placed on each side of the "head" of the tank.
  • Medium tanks: they have the same shape as the light ones, but shields are added on their sides and they have no machine guns but small caliber cannons.
  • Heavy tanks: They come in two shapes, either a scorpion with guns on its "pincers" and stinger, or a "dragon", a giant quadrupedal animal with a very long neck and big guns on its flanks.

It is also worth noting that, thanks to the Empire's development of military technology, each of the Grand Generals is equipped with a unique and personalized combat vehicle.
