Nox the Listener (百耳のナカール Hyaku mimi no nakāru?) is a Shocktrooper Elite Ace found in Valkyria Chronicles 4. He appears in Normal Skirmish 8: Loweholm Urban Area, and is more or less just a mediocre copy of the Shocktrooper Elite Ace The Kill Sergeant.

Gameplay[]

Nox is located to the left of the enemy base camp as viewed in Command Mode, in a walled-off area where a regular Shocktrooper was in Chapter 13: Waiting for Springtime. He is a level lower than The Kill Sergeant and has significantly less health, slightly decreased accuracy and a very slight boost to his dodge.

Since he faces the only entrance to the area he is in, there is no real way to take him by surprise with normal infantry, and since he is a Shocktrooper, turning him around with Scouts can be a somewhat fraught procedure. Probably the best way of dealing with him is driving the Hafen down the main street and hitting him with a smoke round, then shooting him in the smoke which will negate his dodge rating. Hitting him with the Ship Order "Bombardment" is also viable, though due to his innate defense even the fully-upgraded version cannot kill him in one shot.

Since he wields a duplicate weapon, killing him is not actually necessary to getting the "Excellence in Armament" Medal if The Kill Sergeant has already been defeated.

Stats and equipment[]

Nox-Card

Has 20 total defense.

Reward[]

ZM MP4(e)

Defeating him rewards the player with a ZM MP 4(e), a mid-level Imperial Machine Gun. It is just as accurate as the ZM MP 4 he uses himself, but with boosted vs Pers power and shorter range.

Like almost all captured Imperial Machine Guns, it trades range and accuracy for greater vs Pers hitting power.

The Shocktrooper Ace The Kill Sergeant in Chapter 14: Azure Flame shares Nox's weapon drop, meaning the player can have two of these weapons in stock.
