|Interlude 3: A Steamy Ceasefire|
There is no combat mission in this.
In this interlude, a Federation scouting unit composed of Squad E's leadership (Raz, Claude Wallace, Riley Miller, Kai Schulen, and Minerva Victor), becomes lost in a blizzard that made it nigh impossible for them to return back to the Centurion. Though they did run into an imperial scouting group, with a few hotheads from both sides (Raz, Lt. Victor, and an unnamed imperial scout, shocktrooper, and lancer) trying to fire at each other, throwing their weaponry when their weapons froze over, and finally descending to fisticuffs. By this point, an exasperated Claude, along with his imperial counterpart (an unnamed sniper) called for order, quickly making a truce with each other so that they could concentrate on surviving the blizzard.
While they made their way through the blizzard, the group came across a mound of stone that had no snow on top of it. Lt. Wallace realized that it was a natural hot springs, and pooled his group's explosives with the imperials' to expose the spring and thus warm all of them up while they waited for the blizzard to end.
Throughout the episode, the imperials and federation units grew to see each other as fellow humans, telling each other family stories, passing advice off to each other, and helping each other endure the blizzard. The male members of the group also shared in gaping at Riley's wardrobe malfunction, to Riley and Minerva's consternation, anger, and embarrassment.
Completing this interlude unlocks The Promised Aurora, an additional cutscene at the end of Chapter 13: Waiting for Springtime, which unlocks the potential Auroral Vow for both Riley Miller and Claude Wallace.
