Fort Garsbruck

Fort Garsbruck

Fort Garsbruck is an Imperial fort on the Crystal Sea in Valkyria Chronicles 4.

Profile[]

An Imperial fortress on the Crystal Sea. Built upon a small island in the middle of the Garsbruck Strait, it is equipped with cannons to assail any who attempt to pass this maritime military blockade.

Initially, it belonged to the Edinburgh army to guard trade ships from Imperial forces during EWI. In time, maintenance costs grew too high, so the United Kingdom disbanded two of the three fortresses and gave the last, Fort Garsbruck, to the Nord Republic.

After the Nord Republic was annexed by the Empire, Fort Garsbruck became key in the defense of the Crystal Sea. During EWII, its cannons were ironically used against the Edinburgh trade ships they were originally built to protect.

History[]

Cygnus course modified

The altered course, where the fort is along near the city of Tolna

During Operation Cygnus, the Centurion had been heavily damaged and its main reactor knocked out due to an attack by Ausbruch and X-0 forces. Realizing that the Federation naval cipher had either been cracked, or a spy was among the fleet, the crew decided to alter their course to avoid further anticipated ambushes along their original route. However, this would take them through the Garsbruck Strait, where the fort's namesake would lie.

Using balloons aboard the Centurion, Squad E would take advantage of a heavy fog cover to paradrop onto the fort in order to disable two of its cannons while the ship would charge. Though the fortress was eventually alerted to the presence of the Centurion and infiltrators within the fort, Squad E successfully disabled the two cannons and escaped with the ship.
