Europa (Valkyria Revolution)

The continent of Europa at the beginning of the Liberation War.

The continent of Europa is a large continent with many different cultures, as well as many countries. Divided between multiple states of varying importance, it has undergone many changes following the discovery of the energy potential of the mineral called Ragnite, and following the industrial revolution that followed.

Nowadays, five powers dominate the politics of the continent, with colonies and a strong military power. These "empires" are:

- The Brennish Empire : centered on the island of Brenland, which was a pioneer in the development of new technologies using Ragnite at the beginning of the Azure Revolution.

- The Franquen Empire : an empire that once dominated the entire continent before internal unrest reduced its power, later joined the circle of superpowers and relies on diplomacy to expand its colonial empire.

- The Preutzen Empire : a constitutional monarchy, specializes in the manufacture of mana-based consumer goods, and its culture of honor and morality means that it has fewer colonies than the other superpowers.

- The Habstrian Empire : a theocracy whose state religion, Yggdism, considers the Valkyria as gods and which, in fact, quickly made an alliance with Ruz when the latter used his Valkyria.

- The Ruzi Empire : last of the five superpowers, and above all the largest in terms of continuous surface, not having colonies scattered over other continents unlike the other four empires, its military power and its emperor's desire for hegemony nevertheless worry the other four World Powers.

- The Kingdom of Jutland : a small constitutional monarchy located in the southeast of the continent of Europa, on the border between the latter and the East. With few resources, especially in Ragnite, Jutland is nevertheless a strategic position to control the Azure Sea, but its position on the border of the Ruz empire makes it the next target of the latter, which does not want to attack the other great empire of Europa yet.

Trivia

• Unlike the continent of Europa in the main series, this continent has a different shape and includes several countries existing in the real European continent. The five major empires, Brennish, Franquen, Preutzen, Habstrian and Ruzi, are obviously references to the British Empire, the French Second Empire, the German Empire, the Austrian Empire and the Russian Empire.
• Note that many other European countries are represented on the map, even though they play no role in the game scenario. We can see Bulgar, a reference to Bulgaria, Italos referring to Italy, Nederlant referring to the Netherlands, Belghi referring to Belgium, and many other smaller countries, especially those bordering the Azure Sea to the west.
• In a map representing the continent of Europa appearing in the Valyria Revolution Artbook, one can also make out a piece of the northern coast of a continent equivalent to Africa, where there is also a colony, just as another territory east of Jutland seems to be the equivalent of Iran and Iraq and appears to be a colony of the Brennish Empire.
