Aftermath[]
After the fighting ends, Alexis questions why Avan doesn't sound happy that the enemy was defeated without much trouble. Avan apologizes again, sounding truly repentant, and Alexis seems confused at why he is doing so. After Avan explains why he is sorry, Alexis smiles and tells him why she is the way she is.
Alexis elaborates that her father served proudly with the Royal Guard, and that he had hopes and dreams of his heir doing the same. He and his wife struggled to have a child, and when they finally managed to, it was Alexis, a girl, who his wife birthed. Not willing to give up his dream, Alexis' father raised her as a son, rather than as a daughter. When Avan seems sad for her, Alexis smiles again and says she has never had a problem with the way she was raised, and is in fact thankful for it. Alexis reiterates that she is proud of who she is, but laments that, even so, peoples' attitudes change when they discover.
Avan apologizes again, and uses the last fight as an example that, regardless of what gender Alexis is, she is still amazing, and that that is really the only thing that matters. Alexis thanks him, and Avan offers to train together with her again, if she still wants to.
