Across the Bridge is the sixth hard skirmish of Valkyria Chronicles 4. This uses the same map as Chapter 11: The Sea Fortress. It is unlocked after the first three hard skirmishes have been completed.

Location: Fort Garsbruck
Description: Take over Fort Garsbruck by capturing the enemy base camp. Reaching it requires passage on the bridge, which might make it an ideal chokepoint for enemy ambushes. Vehicles cannot be deployed to the fort.
Strategy[]
This is probably the hardest skirmish to get an A rank, as you will need to complete the mission within 3 turns. It is possible to complete the mission in a single turn, however, the method to obtain these results are too unreliable as it requires a scout and an engineer charge to the enemy main campsite, which is a complete suicide mission and will only work with the proper luck (Double AP).
For unit deployment, I would recommend deploying your leader units, lancer, and an engineer. The engineer is required for the mines loaded in the middle of the bridge area. Make sure your scout equip some gear for extra defense.
Start the mission by using the All Unit Defend order, then your main task here is to send a scout, probably Claude or Minerva to look for the enemy grenadiers located on the southeast side of the map. This requires climbing up the ladders to the top so that you can reach them. By killing the grenadiers and sniper there, you can provide a safe route for your other units to the bridge side.
Once the enemies here have been cleared out, Have either Claude or Minerva use Direct Command and bring an engineer and a lancer with them. Try to reach to the bridge area, you will automatically get hit with machine gun fire from the tanks and shocktroopers as soon as you go down. Go towards the bridge, and you can even shoot at the nearby enemy scout from the bottom. By going just directly pass the bridge, you should able to avoid enemy fire. Then switch to the lancer nearby and blow up the enemy tank.
If you still have any CP left, bring Raz down to the same area, to wipe out some of the shocktroopers. When you regain your turn, if the area has been clear out of enemies, bring Riley and Kai to take out the enemies hiding in the bridge. The bridge is loaded mines, so you will need an engineer to disable it.
The thing you need to watch out for is gatling gun in the middle of the bridge. This guy can be taken care of by using your mortars. There is also a sniper ace placed right at the end of the bridge. Killing this sniper will drop the ZM SG 6(e) sniper rifle. Once you have clear the enemies around this area, make a save file for the next turn.
The next turn priority is to capture the main enemy camp to complete the mission within the three turn limit. This part is basically to perform a scout rush. Start the turn by using the Order, All Unit Defend.
Try to bring Raz to clear out some of the enemies to the west side first, he doesn't have enough AP to do much. Now, take control of the leader scout and rush to the main enemy camp by going to the west side of the map, the route will take you all the way to the bottom center. The main enemy camp is guarded with a gatling gun and two shocktroopers. You can ignore the galting gun, and throw a grenade at the two shocktroopers. Then use the rest of your CP to finish them off. Once you taken care of them capture the last camp to complete the mission.
